A steady pace

Has it really been 4 days already? The month is flying by. Progress on the NaNoWrMo challenge is slowing down, but it is moving forward. I'm not exactly sure what I managed to write today but the total word count at the close of play was 6200 and some change. As I was aiming to achieve 2000 words a day, every day, that puts me a day behind already; somewhere along the line there's going to have to be the mother of all writing days to put me back on track. Unfortunately it won't be tomorrow as I have other commitments which mean that in all likelihood by this time tomorrow I'll be even further behind. Still, there's a lot of month to go and time to turn this around.

Finally heard from the organisers of the writing competition who held their awards ceremony on Saturday night. As I feared by the lack of communication, I wasn't one of the lucky ones to win a prize and I shall have to be content that I made the short list, an achievement in itself. Apparently all of the short listed stories were read out at the awards evening and my story was very well received by the audience, which is always nice to hear. Now we move on to the next competition I've entered which should announce its winners within the next week or so I believe. More news as it happens.
