Inching forward

Okay, so my new year resolution to post something on the blog every day, failed after a week or so, but I guess that was ambitious anyway. Didn't really have anything to say on Thursday after a particularly tiring and trying day but I did mean to come on here and post last night, but got distracted by the darts. And what a distraction. I've watched some good matches over the years: Taylor v Lewis in the Masters last year, Ted Hankey v Ronnie Baxter in the BDO final in 2000, Phil Nixon coming back from 6 - 0 down to level it at 6 - 6 in the BDO final in 2006 or 7, but last night's game between Alan Norris and James Wilson was right up there with the best of them. I look forward to the semi-finals later on today.

Managed to get a few more pages written for book 4 yesterday, but progress is slow. It's not that the ideas aren't there or the inspiration is lacking, but instead it's purely down to lacking enough quality time to really get stuck in. I keep thinking I see somebody with a torch at the end of a long dark tunnel bringing me relief, but instead they're carrying a new bundle of hassles. Oh, well, just life I guess. Monday is a new week and hopefully a new start. Writing motivation is high and I really want to take full advantage of that whilst it is.

Received another email from my old editor at Static Movement saying that I should be able to be released from my old contracts thus paving the way for the dozen or so stories that are languishing there, to be published by the new company this lady and her colleagues are setting up. I certainly hope so because many of those stories have been languishing there for over a year.

Have a good weekend everyone.
