Time flies

I'm not quite sure where the time goes, but apparently it's been a couple of weeks since I've posted on here, which is frightening as it only feels like a couple of days ago. No wonder I don't get anything done.

I'd like to say that I've spent the time writing but that would sadly be a lie. Instead it's been taken up with mundane chores and hassles, the likes of which we all suffer from. I've also had a rough few days health wise and haven't felt like doing much.

Got to be honest and say that I've also been busy watching TV in lots of little manageable chunks - there's just so much on at the moment that it's hard to keep on top of it. Absolutely loving the Walking dead, Person of interest and of course the unbeatable Spartacus - War of the damned - don't know what I'm going to do when that finishes in 4 or 5 weeks. Then next week sees the return of Grimm with the long-awaited return of A Game of Thrones on 2nd April - can't wait.

There's also a stack of films out on DVD that I'd love to watch as I was unable to see them at the cinema - just hope my local Blockbuster isn't one that's being closed down - damn you double-dip recession!

Back to writing, which is after all what this blog was originally intended for. As you will have read in recent entries whilst I haven't actually been writing I have been inundated with short story ideas which I've been feverishly scribbling down for when I finally get the chance to start writing again. Well yesterday I'm glad to say that I finally recommenced work on Fury of the sword and managed to knock out a quick couple of thousand words for chapter 6. If every day was as easy as yesterday I'd have book 3 written within a month - you've gotta love days like that. I plan on finishing chapter 6 tomorrow all being well with a view then to starting work on my historical novel on Thursday. I know - writing one novel is hard enough but writing two at the same time has got to be impossible - well I'm going to find out. My priority is of course Fury of the sword but the other idea has been screaming at me for months if not years begging to be written and it's now become time sensitive so I've decided to make a start.

I'm not going to be forgetting short stories either. I've at least a half dozen workable ideas jotted down and I plan on trying to write one of those a week just for a change of pace and so that I've got something to enter any competitions of interest.

Competition wise I've just got the 4 out there now and 3 of them aren't due to announce their winners for some weeks so probably best to forget about them for a while and concentrate on writing some new material.
